縱剖面: 上: 1, solute-poor; 3, solute-rich; solute指 carbon & alloying elements, like Mn, Cr, ... 溶質指 碳/合金 的濃度.

      1. P+F; 2, P+B+F+M; 3, M+B

微觀上不同的碳/合金濃度 →不同的硬化能, 淬火後得→不同的金相組織→浸蝕後不同的灰階/亮度.

橫斷面: 下: 1, solute-poor, 淺色區; 3, solute-rich, 暗色區.

上2張:橫斷面 cross section；下5張:縱剖面,longitudinal section. 所謂的"帶狀偏析" banded segregation.  這現象只能靠延長持溫(固溶)時間減輕症狀, 無法完全去除.
