該軸承的金相組織 microstructure of the spalled bearing. Bright streaks pointed by yellow arrows are carbide-rich areas. At larger magnifications, both  carbide particles in good shape (round) and in bad shapes ( angular) can be seen.

Angular carbide particles  are very very detrimental to steel properties, and thus, bearing performance because they break away from the matrix easily.
